Dianne is a long standing member of RAPAR and has had a recent experience of being detained in Yarl's Wood. She is now free, but has meet several women, while staying in Yarl's Wood, whom she wanted to help as well to get out of the detention centre. Dianne is from Zambia, but has been living in the UK since 2002, with her daughter. Having been detained from the UK would have significantly uprooted her life that she has built over so many years. Juliet is still in Yarl's Wood and is desperate to get out. She's currently under threat of immediate detention, but has lived in the UK for several years, and continuously, more than 19 years. Thus, having to leave the UK would mean to start over again and leaving her life that she has build in this country behind. Read more of her story here.

Norah is originally from Zimbabwe, and also currently is still detained in the Yarl's Wood detention centre. Being forcefully removed from this country and having to go back to Zimbabwe, would put her life enormously under threat. While she was still in Zimbabwe, she worked as a legal counsel at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, but was fired due to her involvement with the opposition party MDC. This unfair act has not put her in despair but made her even more dedicated to the opposition party, which ended up in having to endure torture and persecution. Read more of her story here.
