McLarty L & Moran R, 2009 ‘Engaging all young people in meaningful learning after 16: a qualitative study.’ London: Equality and Human Rights Commission:
This report highlights the findings of a qualitative research study into young people’s experiences of learning before and after the age of 16 and how they feel this can be made more engaging. It was designed to capture a wide range of young people’s voices in the 14-18 year old age group, especially those who are less likely to be included (e.g. mothers, young offenders, from different ethnic groups, disabled, seeking asylum - amongst others). The study suggests the need to review how young people are supported to engage in learning.
