Manchester conference marks 50 years of independence
Many African countries are celebrating half a century of independence this year - and, to mark this, RAPAR’s Elikya project is organising a series of conferences on “Leadership in Africa” which will run throughout the year.
The Elikya project brings together people from a number of African countries who are now living in the UK. The conferences will look at various topics including the way African leaders have faced the challenges of independence, the West’s involvement in African politics, and the issue of human rights.
