On Sunday 14th June RAPAR will be holding a summer festival as a celebration of diversity within the community and tying in with the United Nations International Refugee Day on 20th June. See the Facebook event here for more details and updates, and to 'join' and share the event if you use Facebook. The Rhythm and Justice Festival takes place at St Margaret’s Centre in Whalley Range from 12pm - 8pm, so people can come and join in whenever and however long they want. The festival will play host to a diverse range of musicians, showcasing a variety of local talent, as well as a variety of arts workshops and stalls both indoors and outdoors, film screenings, and talks about RAPAR's work in promoting the rights of displaced people. Members of RAPAR, many of whom are currently seeking asylum in the UK, will be at the festival to share their own experiences. The musical acts will keep audiences entertained throughout the day with a plethora of different styles. | <click to enlarge> |
